Fabio Oberto Barolo Riserva 2009, 750ml
This Barolo Riserva from La Morra is made from 55-60-year-old Nebbiolo vines, planted in calcareous marl at an altitude of 280 meters. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 6 months in stainless steel tanks. Barolo Riserva can be sold after 5 years from the harvest.
Tasting Note:
The wine has a beautiful ruby red color that remains stable over time. Its bouquet is rich and spacious, with lingering notes of fresh fruit, small berries, inner-mouth spiciness, mountain hay, and autumn leaves. On the palate, it offers excellent structure with balanced tannins and acidity, making it extremely pleasing and suitable for long aging.
