About Taittinger

The origins of Champagne Taittinger trace back to 1734 when Jacques Fourneaux founded the original House. The Taittinger name became part of its history in 1931 when Pierre Taittinger acquired the estate, inspired by the elegance of Château de la Marquetterie, where he was stationed during the 1st World War.
Today, Taittinger stands among the few major Champagne Houses still owned and actively managed by the family whose name appears on the label. Under the leadership of Pierre’s great-grandchildren, Vitalie and Clovis Taittinger, the House continues to preserve its distinctive style of finesse and Chardonnay-driven elegance, producing wines celebrated worldwide for their purity and balance.
