Domaine des Perdrix Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru "La Perriere" 2019, 750ml
The La Perriere parcel sits where historically was located a shallow quarry before being replaced with vineyards. Planted in 1960 and 2011 on a total area of 0.67 hectares on a deep clay dominated soil with light slope and pebbles.
The grapes are destemmed and cold soaked during 4 to 6 days to extract color and the more delicate flavors. Then full maceration
lasts for 15 days with punch downs. The must in then fermented with indigenous yeast.
The wine is aged for 15 months with in 40% new barrels from Allier and Vosges forests. The wine spends 2 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
Tasting Note:
Beautiful purple-red, velvety color. The nose is intense with notes of small black fruits (blackcurrant). The palate is full of finesse with tannins and integrated woodiness.
