Akayane 500 Series LXX Shochu, 500ml
Akayane Distillery is an independently owned and operated distillery located in Ei, Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
Established in 2006, it produces artisanal spirits using locally grown Satsuma imo sweet potatoes and crystal-clear, mineral-rich groundwater from Mount Kaimondake.
The distillery utilizes both European direct-heating and Japanese indirect-heating stills for distillation, and experiments with diverse cask types for maturation, including ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and Japanese Mizunara oak.
A clear spirit made from the combination of Shochu (distilled from sweet potato Koganesengan grown in Minamisatsuma) and rice koji (distilled from Thai Rice).
The highest level of Japanese shochu spirits, with a gentle mouthfeel. Traditionally produced fermentation mash, distilled using two methods (direct and indirectly heated stills), blended in a ratio of 3 (direct): 7 (indirect).
