Pieropan Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva "Vigna Garzon" 2018, 750ml
A blend of 60% Corvina Veronese, 30% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella, and 5% Croatina Veronese, from 20 years old vines planted in pink limestone. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 300 to 500 meters with a southern exposure, yielding 20 hectoliters per hectare.
After a natural drying process of about 60 days, assisted by fans if needed, the grapes are destemmed and crushed. Fermentation occurs at 23-24°C for about 15-20 days with daily pump-overs and punch-downs. The wine is then matured in 500-liter French oak barrels for at least 36 months, followed by 12 months in vitrified cement tanks and at least one year in the bottle. Certified organic.
Tasting Note:
Deep with ruby reflections. Ample with hints of morello cherry, blackberry and plum. It is complex and rounded, with a powerful structure supporting the fruit and a lovely freshness on the finish.
