Pieropan Le Colombare Recioto di Soave 2018, 500ml
Made from 100% Garganega, grown organically on 40-45 year-old vines at an altitude of 300 meters with a west exposure, yielding 60 hectoliters per hectare. The grapes are hand-picked in small boxes at the end of September and dried naturally on bamboo cane mats for about five months, allowing dehydration and noble rot development.
After gentle pressing, the free-run juice ferments in glass-lined concrete tanks. The wine then ages in 2500-liter acacia and French oak barrels for around two years, followed by at least six months of bottle aging before release. Le Colombare is produced only in the best vintages. Residual Sugar: 110-120 g/l.
Tasting Note:
This wine is rich and intense, with a balsamic note leading to a complex bouquet of ripe tropical fruit, apricots in syrup, candied lime peel, roasted almonds, and quince. Spicy hints of turmeric, saffron, and ginger powder. On the palate, it is warm, well-balanced, smooth, persistent, and elegantly fresh.
