Egon Muller "Wiltinger Braune Kupp" Riesling Auslese 2018, 750ml
Wiltinger Braune Kupp is a lesser know monopole of Egon Müller bottled under the Le Gallais label. Farmed since 1953 the vineyard is located in the Saar region, with steep slopes (50–60%), slate soils mixed with fine clay, and a south-facing position that helps ripening. The nearby Saar river creates a sheltered microclimate, protecting vines from cold winds. 100% Riesling and aged in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Note:
Ripe and cool on the precise nose that displays fascinating flinty notes of crushed wet stones and fresh lemon oil. The palate is lush, round, intense, salty-piquant and well-concentrated. The finish is complex, tight, very long and expressive in its firm, mineral character.
Residual sugar 90-120g/l
