Domaine Rapet Pernand Vergelesses Blanc "Les Combottes" 2019, 750ml
The vines, planted in the early 2000s, are on steep, south-west facing parcels. The soil is white, marly, and fairly light, with short rows and ditches to limit erosion.
The name "Combottes" is derived from "combe," referring to the valley-like character of the parcel.
The grapes are pressed using a pneumatic press for two hours. After settling at low temperatures for 24 hours, the juice is moved to barrels, with 30% being new, for fermentation. The wine ages on lees with stirring and is bottled after 12 months.
Tasting Note
A beautiful golden colour. It is fresh, lively and elegant and has a delicate bouquet of fresh white and citrus fruit developing spicy notes with hints of honey and gun-flint which will intensify with age.
