Famille Lieubeau Muscadet Sevre et Maine Confluent 2023, 750ml
100% Melon de Bourgogne grown organically on 20- to 40-year-old vines in the Château de l’Aulnaye vineyard, located near the confluence of the Sèvre and Maine rivers. The soils are composed of gneiss, schist, and sand, with shallow, poor topsoil over hard bedrock. Grapes are gently pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in underground tanks; no oak is used. The wine is aged sur lie for 9 months with regular bâtonnage.
Tasting Note:
On the nose, it shows restrained orchard fruit, notably green apple. The palate is linear and saline, with a subtle creaminess and firm mineral tension. Overall, it is a precise and quietly expressive Muscadet, shaped by its maritime terroir and extended lees ageing.
