Les Arums de Lagrange 2021, 750ml
A blend of 62% Sauvignon Blanc, 27% Sémillon, and 11% Sauvignon Gris, sourced from vineyards in Saint-Julien planted at densities of 6,700 to 8,700 vines per hectare. The soils are predominantly gravel over clay-limestone subsoils, and the vines are managed by parcel and intra-parcel selection based on age, terroir, and ripeness. Grapes were manually harvested in the cool mornings between September 8 and 24, then gently pressed in whole bunches. Fermentation occurred in 225L French oak barrels using native yeasts, with no malolactic conversion. The wine was aged for six months in barrel, 50% of which were new.
Tasting Note:
On the nose, it shows citrus peel, white peach, and floral notes. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with crisp acidity, subtle creaminess from barrel ageing, and a chalky mineral finish. Overall, it is a precise and well-balanced white shaped by careful vinification and the tension between Sauvignon freshness and Sémillon texture.
