Domaine Perrot Minot Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru 2017, 750ml
Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2017 comes from a mid-slope parcel at 270–280 metres altitude, featuring a slightly steeper incline than Chambertin. The soil is composed of Bajocian crinoidal limestone and marl, layered with limestone scree and silt. Vines are over 55 years old, and grapes were fully destemmed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts, preceded by a cold maceration. The wine was aged for 16–18 months in 20–30% new French oak barrels, with no racking, fining, or filtration, and bottled by gravity. (Maison wine)
Tasting Note:
It shows a clean, precise bouquet that is focused and direct, offering red and black fruit, crushed stone and more terroir expression than the Mazoyères. The palate is medium-bodied, the sappy red fruit on the entry laced with marmalade and dried quince, and grippy in the mouth, with a touch of spiciness.
