Blandy's 20 Years Old Malmsey, 750ml
Blandy's 20 Years Old Malmsey, 750ml is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
This Malmsey is sourced from vineyards planted mostly on Cambisol soils in the São Jorge region on the northern coast of Madeira. The fruit was hand-harvested and fermented on its skins in stainless steel tanks using natural yeasts. Fermentation was stopped through fortification with 96% neutral grape spirit to preserve natural sugar levels. The wine aged for an average of 20 years in seasoned American oak barrels using the traditional Canteiro system in the family cellars, undergoing gradual oxidative maturation without temperature control.
Tasting Note:
Complex aromas of dark honey, brown sugar, fruitcake, toasted nuts, and subtle orange peel open on the nose. The palate is rich and luscious with high residual sweetness balanced by intense, citrus-driven acidity. The finish is exceptionally long and warm, characterized by lingering notes of dark chocolate, dried fig, and toasted walnut.
Region: Madeira, Portugal
Variety: Malvasia
Rating: Decanter 96
