Domaine Lignier Michelot Chambolle Musigny V.V. 2021, 750ml

These vines, over 60 years old, are located on the Draseys and Gammaires parcels, north of Chambolle-Musigny. This 6,000-bottle cuvée is made with 70% whole clusters. It represents the northern side of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation and has characteristics similar to those of neighbouring Morey-Saint-Denis. It is a deep wine with lovely tannins.

Tasting Note

This comes from three plots, all at the north end of Chambolle, close to Morey, with an average age of 65 years. This has a lot of pure Chambolle perfume, well-handled in 2018. There is 70% whole-bunch and the wine is vivid, forward, floral and ripe.
