Springbank 10 Year Old Amontillado, 700ml

The first-ever Springbank fully matured in fresh Amontillado sherry casks. Distilled 2015, 100% ex-fresh Amontillado hogsheads, bottled at cask strength 55% ABV. Released March 2025, limited to 9,000 bottles worldwide.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of salted caramel, roasted almonds and toasted hazelnuts, layered with dried apricot, honeyed orange peel and old leather-bound books. Distinctive Amontillado notes of brioche crust, green walnut and sea salt emerge with air, alongside a faint rancio-like nuttiness and Springbank’s classic oily wax and gentle peat whisper.

The palate is rich yet strikingly dry, opening with dark toffee and fig paste before crisp nutty Amontillado character asserts itself: salted Marcona almonds, dried Seville orange, graphite and fine tannic grip. Mid-palate brings cracked black pepper, cocoa and refined earthy peat, all wrapped in a viscous, mouth-coating texture with linseed-oil waxiness.

The finish is long and saline, fading through walnut skin, dry sherry and lingering coastal smoke.
A brilliant addition to the Springbank sherry series: drier, nuttier and more savoury than its Oloroso or Manzanilla siblings, yet unmistakably Springbank. Superb now, with 10–15 years of graceful evolution ahead.
