Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St Georges 1er Cru "Clos des Porrets St Georges" 2021, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from the 3.37ha monopole Clos des Porrets Saint-Georges Premier Cru (old vines, average over 50 years) south of Nuits-Saint-Georges village with clay-rich soils over pink Premeaux limestone scree on a mid-slope with 8-12% incline. The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed and lightly crushed, and undergo alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks after a short cold maceration. Malolactic completed. Aged 18 months in oak barrels using 15% new wood with one racking post-malolactic.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show red cherry and crushed strawberry along with floral and sea spray notes. The palate delivers purity and focus with fine tannic structure and lifting acidity. Overall impression is one of elegant tension and persistent clarity reflecting the fresh vintage character in Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.
