Domaine Matrot Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Chalumeaux" 2020, 750ml

100% Chardonnay grown in a southeast-facing parcel near the hamlet of Blagny, planted on shallow marly-limestone soils known as rendzines. The vines are approximately 30 years old and farmed organically. The grapes were whole-bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks, followed by ageing for 12 months on fine lees in French oak barrels aged between one and three years, with no new wood used. The wine was then matured for an additional 6 months in stainless steel to prepare for bottling.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, it opens with floral lift, crushed rock, and hints of white peach, pear, and citrus. The palate is silky and vibrant, showing orchard fruit, subtle spice, and saline minerality. Overall, it’s a precise and elegant Puligny 1er Cru that reflects its high-altitude terroir with clarity and finesse.
