Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2011, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from 2.7ha on the Chambolle-Musigny side of Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, planted in shallow red clay over limestone mother rock. The grapes are hand-harvested and fully destemmed before alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in vat. Malolactic completed. Aged 18 months in oak barrels using around 40% new wood.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show red cherry and black raspberry along with earth and violet notes. The palate delivers density and power with firm tannic structure and bright acidity. Overall impression is one of structured intensity and long persistence reflecting the cooler vintage character in Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.
