Domaine Guy Amiot Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Vergers" 2020, 750ml

Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Vergers" Blanc 2020 is sourced from a 0.55 ha east-facing parcel with 70-year-old Chardonnay vines rooted in limestone soils close to the bedrock. This site, part of a 9.41 ha cru, produces lean and nervy wines, especially in youth. Grapes are manually harvested and sorted, fermented in tank with bâtonnage, and undergo spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Ageing occurs in a mix of 20% new and used French oak barriques for 12 months, followed by 6 months of integration in tank before bottling.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show tea leaf, peony, honeysuckle, and green almond. The palate is racy and mineral, with firm acidity and evolving notes of baked fruit, spice, and toast. The finish is persistent and layered, with ageing potential up to 10 years.
