Domaine Guy Amiot Bourgogne Chardonnay "Cuvee Flavie" 2020, 750ml
Bourgogne Chardonnay "Cuvée Flavie" 2020 is sourced from a 0.50 ha southeast-facing parcel just outside Chassagne-Montrachet, planted with 45-year-old Chardonnay vines on clay and limestone soils. Named in tribute to Flavie Amiot, co-founder of the domaine, this cuvée blends fruit from three plots. Grapes are manually harvested and gently crushed, fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of stainless steel tanks (two-thirds) and older French oak barrels (one-third), followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation and bâtonnage. The wine is aged for 12 months before final blending and bottling, with no new oak used.
Tasting Note:
Exotic, yeasty and finely balanced nose, showing notes of some tropical pear, apple and mango, balanced by wet stones and a steely undertone. The palate is fresh, immediate and linear – poised on a razor edge of acidity and green herbal leaf, rounded out by stewed apple and bread yeast.
