Kavalan Peatist Oloroso Sherry Cask, 700ml

This is part of the Peatist Series focused on exploring the interaction between peated malt. Produced using premium peated malted barley and distilled in traditional Scottish copper pot stills, the spirit is matured in high-quality Oloroso sherry casks from Spain. This bottling is a single cask strength single malt whisky with an alcohol by volume of 57.8%.

Tasting Note:

Aroma: Smoky peat weaves through tropical fruit as pineapple and mango meld with buttery toffee and charcoal-roasted plums. These notes are complemented by deep scents of ripe raisins, figs, and a hint of fresh herbs.

Palate: Rich and layered with citrus and buttery toffee opening followed by dried mango and savory-sweet black dates. The peat is well-integrated with the dark fruit sweetness of the sherry wood.

Finish: The texture is viscous and leads into a finish of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and nuts, accented by a delicate tannic texture and a lingering, balanced smokiness.
