Rockford "Rod & Spur" Shiraz Cabernet 2019, 750ml

This wine includes components from old vines,, and from vines replanted with cuttings from the original 100 year-old vineyards. Like all Rockford reds, the grapes are hand-picked, crushed with an 1880s Bagshaw crusher, open fermented, and gently basket pressed. The components are aged separately in seasoned American and French oak hogsheads and large vats for two years, allowing the tannins to soften and the colors and flavors to consolidate.

Tasting Note:

A blend of 73% Shiraz and 27% Cabernet, the wine is a terrific example of how these two varieties come together in a concentrated, rich and full flavored wine that drinks well on release, but will also reward cellaring for a further 6-8 years.
