Martin Ray "Synthesis" Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, 750ml

Synthesis showcases Napa Valley's diverse terroir. A blend of 96% Cabernet, 2% Merlot, 1% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc are sourced from various AVAs, including Yountville (30%), Rutherford (29%), Oakville (15%), Stags Leap District (12%), Howell Mountain (5%), Diamond Mountain (5%), and Mount Veeder (4%).

Alluvial soils from the valley floor contribute to the fruit profile, while volcanic soils from the mountains add structure and tertiary notes.

Fermented in small, open-top fermenters for 14 days with pump-overs for optimal extraction. Aged for 16 months in 62% new French oak.

Tasting Note

Earthy and structured with elderberry, dried cherries, and blackberry with touches of walnuts and resin. Plush red fruits and currants, layered with fines herbs and wet stone. Full and steadfast, its bright acidity is balanced by well-integrated tannins, with a hint of cocoa and caramel on the finish.
