Martin Ray "Synthesis" Pinot Noir 2022, 750ml

The Estate range showcases a Burgundian style with bright acidity, complex fruit, and firm structure, sourced from Home Ranch Block and Tower Block vineyards.

The Home Ranch Block is a 12-acre estate vineyard, featuring six clones in Goldridge soil, includes notable Dijon clones 667, 777, 115, 828, and 943. The Tower Block is exclusively planted with Clone 37.

Each clone was fermented separately in open-top fermenters with gentle punch-downs and a brief maceration period. After fermentation at moderate temperatures, the wine was basket-pressed and aged in 50% new French oak for 13 months.

Tasting Note:

Wild and fresh, with cherry cola and tart raspberry on a core of pomegranate and fresh ground baking spices. Supple and taut, with pure red fruits, and silky layers of orange peel, forest herbs, and mace. Fleshy, with refined tannins over vibrant acidity with an elegant finish.
