This 85% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, and 5% Syrah blend is grown in the Sommelongue vineyard north of Orange, where vines are planted in clay-limestone soils. The grapes were hand-harvested and de-stemmed before fermentation began in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The juice stayed on the skins for a period of 15 to 20 days. The wine aged for 12 months in stainless steel vats and concrete tanks to keep the primary fruit characteristics. After the ageing process, the wine was bottled and stayed in the cellar for 3 months before it was sold.
Tasting Note:
The nose has aromas of raspberry, sour cherry, and violets. The palate has a medium body with supple tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is persistent with notes of spices and liquorice.
