Domaine Rapet Beaune 1er Cru "Les Bressandes" 2020, 750ml
Beaune Bressandes is one of the largest Burgundy appellations, covering 17 hectares with 95% red wines. These wines are highly respected, thanks to the site's elevated altitude (280m/920ft) and steep, limestone-rich slopes. The Bressandes parcel, located north of Beaune and facing east, enjoys excellent exposure. Its name may come from a 13th-century canon named Jean Bressand or the Gallic term for a humid plot of land, originating from Bresse.
Fermentation lasts 15 days with punch downs, allowing the wine to soak up the richness and color from the grape skins before pressing. The wine ages in 20% new oak barrels.
Tasting Note:
The Pinot Noir grapes come from an area of the Cote de Beaune that gives rise to very elegant wines, such as this bottle which is aged in 30% new barrels and has a predominantly fruity profile with a round, delicately tannic sip.
