Domaine Jean Tardy Gevrey Chambertin "Champerrier" V.V. 2020, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from old vines (around 60 years) in the Champerrier lieu-dit, located below the Champeaux Premier Cru on the Brochon side of Gevrey-Chambertin with stony clay-limestone soils over mother rock. The grapes are hand-harvested, fully destemmed, given a cold pre-fermentation maceration, and undergo alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts followed by 18-20 days total cuvaison. Aged 18 months in oak barrels using 25-30% new wood.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show black plum and wild strawberry along with floral and light earthy notes. The palate delivers concentration and freshness with fine tannic structure and vibrant acidity. Overall impression is one of focused intensity and elegant persistence reflecting the ripe yet balanced vintage character in Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.
