100% Gamay from old vines in Fleurie grown on pink granite soils at higher elevations that favor finesse and aromatic lift. The Château de Fleurie estate, owned by Jean Loron, practices sustainable viticulture with careful canopy management and hand-harvesting to preserve fruit integrity. Grapes were vinified traditionally with semi-carbonic maceration, using native yeasts. The wine was matured in stainless steel and cement vats to emphasize freshness and purity, with no new oak influence.
Tasting Note:
The 2023 Fleurie is perfumed and elegant, with aromas of red cherry, raspberry, rose petal, and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied, supple, and lifted, showing bright acidity, silky tannins, and a mineral edge. The finish is long and harmonious, emphasizing finesse and aromatic complexity typical of Fleurie.
