Domaine Baron Thenard Pernand Vergelesses 1er Cru "Ile des Vergelesses" Rouge 2020, 750ml

This 100% Pinot Noir is sourced from the estate's parcel within Île des Vergelesses, widely recognized as the top Premier Cru site in Pernand-Vergelesses. The east-southeast facing plot features sandy limestone and iron-rich clay soils mixed with flint debris. The grapes were fully destemmed and fermented with natural yeasts in traditional open-top wooden vats. The wine aged for 12 to 18 months in large neutral French oak barrels (minimal new oak) before bottling.

Tasting Note:

Fragrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry, wild thyme, and moist earth open on the nose, with subtle hints of red flowers and spice. The palate is medium-bodied and fleshy, silky tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is clean, persistent, and structured, ending on a fine mineral note.
