Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru "Montee de Tonnerre" 2023, 750ml

100% Chardonnay from Les Clos, the largest and most prestigious of the Chablis Grands Crus, situated on the right bank of the Serein River. The vineyard’s steep slopes of Kimmeridgian limestone, rich in fossilized shells, give the wine its hallmark power and minerality. Louis Michel & Fils vinifies and ages entirely in stainless steel, preserving purity and terroir transparency. Grapes were hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented with native yeasts, then aged on fine lees in stainless steel for about 16–18 months before bottling, allowing depth and complexity to develop without oak influence.
Tasting Note:
The 2023 “Les Clos” is intense and commanding, with aromas of citrus, white peach, and acacia blossom, layered with flinty minerality and saline notes. On the palate, it is concentrated and structured, showing crystalline fruit, vibrant acidity, and remarkable length. The finish is powerful yet refined, combining richness with precision, and promising outstanding aging potential.
