Yannick Amirault Bourgeuil "Les Quartiers" 2021, 750ml
Located at the foot of the hill and facing east, this single plot of white chalk (high active limestone) enjoys a cooler climate with exceptional quality potential in solar vintages. The vines, planted in the 1960s, have been cultivated by us since 1986. The vineyard features natural grass cover and tillage under the rows.
The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo double sorting with destalking (no crushing). Alcoholic fermentation takes place in a cone oak vat with a skin maceration period of four weeks. The wine is then aged for 24 months, with 45% in a 1,500L oak vat, 35% in 400L casks, and 20% in a 600L sandstone jar.
Tasting note:
The Bourgueil "Les Quartiers" is a dry, medium-bodied red wine known for its intense acidity and rich flavors of blackcurrant and tobacco. The limestone imparts a notable sharpness, complemented by soft tannins.
