Glenrothes 16 Year Old is a single cask release from G&M Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range. Distilled on March 15, 2007 and bottled on October 11, 2023 at 62.7% ABV, this Speyside single malt was matured for 16 years in a refill sherry butt (Cask #17602003), yielding 648 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and bottled without added colour. The whisky belongs to Batch 23/137 and reflects Gordon & MacPhail’s focus on long-term maturation and regional character through carefully selected casks.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, the whisky opens with honeycomb, stewed raisin, orange peel, and roasted cashew. The palate is rich and creamy, showing vanilla, raspberry, cranberry, cinnamon, clove, and milk chocolate, with hints of hazelnut and oak. The finish is medium in length, with lingering dried fruit and pepper. This bottling offers a bold and layered profile, shaped by extended sherry cask ageing.
