Highland Park 1984, 37 Year Old "Private Collection" G&M, 700ml
The ‘Private Collection’ features a truly exceptional and unique range of greatly aged single malts from a mixture of celebrated, little-known, and now closed distilleries across Scotland.
The 37 Year Old Highland Park was distilled in1984, matured in a Refill American Hogshead, and bottled from Cask #1816 at 46.3% ABV in 2021.
Only 116 hand-blown crystal decanters have been produced.
Founded in 1798 at Orkney Islands by Magnus Eunson, it started as an illicit operation before receiving an official license in 1826.
Today Highland Park is the second-northernmost single malt distillery.
Now owned by Edrington Group, it remains devoted to tradition, using locally sourced barley hand-turned and peat-dried on-site.
Their signature character comes from exclusive maturation in ex-sherry casks for 12+ years, yielding richness and depth.
Nose: Fragrant lemon aromas intertwine with honeydew melon and sweet Demerara sugar. Red apple notes develop accompanied by grapefruit zest and walnut.
Taste: Citrus fruit flavours give way to guava and subtle cured meats. Dried mango comes to the fore alongside toasted almonds and spicy pepper.
Finish: Soft smoke lingers on the finish with green apple, poached pear and spice.
