Convalmore 39 Year Old is a single cask release from G&M Recollection Series #3, which highlights rare whiskies from closed distilleries. Distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2024 at 51.1% ABV, this Speyside single malt was matured for 39 years in a refill sherry hogshead (Cask #1733), yielding only 108 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and bottled without added colour. The Recollection Series preserves the character of silent distilleries, and this bottling captures the waxy and fruity style once typical of Convalmore.

Tasting Note:

On the nose, the whisky opens with fig, sultana, prune juice, cacao, arabica beans, treacle, and cinnamon. The palate is rich and syrupy, showing blackcurrant, stewed apple, black cherry, leather, brown banana, pecan pie, chocolate, and black coffee, with firm oak tannins. The finish is long and chewy, with leathery depth and lingering spice. This bottling offers a complex and mature profile shaped by extended sherry cask ageing and the distinctive style of a lost distillery.
