Glenkinchie 12 Year Old, 700ml
Glenkinchie Distillery is located in East Lothian, Lowlands, just 15 miles of Edinburgh.
Established in 1837 by brothers John and George Rate it started as a supplier to various blends, including the iconic "White Horse." Ownership changed hands several times throughout history, facing closures and challenges and it was acquired by Diageo in 2013.
It sources its water from the St. Catherine's Spring, located within the distillery grounds, which contributes to the delicate and floral character of the whisky.
Glenkinchie uses unpeated malt, resulting in a lighter and more approachable spirit.
While it is known for its single malts, its spirit is also used in the "Johnnie Walker Green Label" blended Scotch whisky.
Nose: Aromatic and flowery with vanilla, cut flowers and a toasty note. Sweet, creamy, and lightly aromatic with fresh citrus.
Palate: Soft start, becoming flowery. Smooth delivery, crisp mid-palate, settling into butter icing, lemon cheesecake, and freesias.
Finish: Herbal and drying, like potpourri.
