Talisker 2007, The Distillers Edition, 700ml

The Amoroso-cask-finished Talisker is part of the Distillers Edition series, distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2017 at 10 year old.

This Distillers Edition is finished in amoroso casks, which previously held a sweetened and fortified Spanish wine, similar to sweet oloroso sherry.

It boasts of coastal notes and dried fruit, a perfect choice for whisky lovers looking for something unique from this region.

Nose: Sea breeze, iodine, with maritime elements balanced by a hint of butter. Aromas of seashells and creamy notes from the Amoroso cask, and a subtle orange custard aroma.

Palate: A clean, austere, almost flat entrance gives way to a burst of bitter citrus fruit peel at midpalate.

Finish: interminably with a hot, sweet and savory note of BBQ sauce, this lingers with a smoky richness and a mouth-drying stony note.
