Longrow 18 Year Old, 700ml

The heavily peated expression from Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, double-distilled from floor-malted barley smoked to around 50–55 ppm phenols, this annual limited-edition core range bottling is matured for 18 years in a vatting of 90% ex-sherry casks and 10% ex-port pipes. Bottled at 46% ABV. Released October 2024, limited to around 9,000 bottles worldwide.

Tasting Note:

Aromas of blackberry jam, walnuts and liquorice root, with gentle peat smoke, dried figs and dark cherry compote. Port-driven raspberry, toasted brioche and cinnamon emerge with air, lifted by a trace of coastal brine.

The palate is rich and oily, opening with bramble fruit and treacle sweetness, balanced by nutty depth and subtle smoke. Mid-palate reveals dried fruit, pepper spice and mineral salinity, all wrapped in Longrow’s signature oily earthiness.

The finish is long and poised, fading through sherry warmth, earthy peat and lingering cocoa.
A harmonious fusion of sherry and Longrow’s maritime character, expressive now with scope to evolve over the next decade.
