Benromach 35 Year Old, 700ml

A 35-year-old limited release from Benromach distillery, distilled in the early 1980s and aged in first-fill sherry casks, was released in two tranches during 2016.

Benromach distillery in Speyside was built in the 19th century, and after changing owners, it was eventually bought by Gordon & MacPhail, who rebuilt it from scratch and turned it into a well-regarded and widely distributed single malt.

Nose: Intense sherry notes with honey and apricot marmalade, kiwi and grapefruit.

Palate: Fruit cake, baking spices, honey, dark chocolate, and hints of tobacco.

Finish: Fruit fades to subtle barrel char and menthol.
