100% Chardonnay from the Les Combottes climat in Pernand-Vergelesses. The vines, planted on steep south-west facing slopes with limestone and marl soils, yield wines of freshness and mineral precision. Domaine Rapet Père et Fils farms sustainably, with careful canopy management and hand-harvesting to preserve fruit integrity. Grapes were whole-cluster pressed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with about 30% new oak, striking a balance between purity and texture.
Tasting Note:
The 2022 “Les Combottes” shows aromas of white peach, pear, citrus zest, and subtle floral notes, layered with hints of hazelnut and flinty minerality. The palate is medium-bodied, lively, and precise, with bright acidity, fine texture, and a saline backbone.
