"Sycamore Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon 1987 is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 8% Malbec, and 6% Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged for 27 months in French oak barrels, with 62% new oak.
Planted in 1970s, the Sycamore Vineyard is located on the southern end of the Rutherford Bench near the Mayacamas Mountains, featuring rich clay loam soil.
Tasting Note:
This vintage is known for its intense aromatic complexity, with notes of blackberry, pomegranate syrup, black tea, and forest floor, and a rich, textured palate featuring flavors of forest fruits, dark chocolate, bay leaf, and warm oak spices.
