Highland Queen 40 Year Old, 700ml
Highland Queen is not a physical distillery but a brand owned by Terroirs Distillers, and its whiskies are primarily sourced from Tullibardine Distillery.
The brand was founded in 1893 by Roderick Macdonald and Alexander Muir.
Ownership changed hands several times, and in 2008, it landed under the Picard Vins et Spiritueux group.
The blending artistry of master blenders is at the heart of Highland Queen, who carefully select and combine various casks and malt types to achieve consistency across expressions.
The Highland Queen Majesty 40-year old was distilled in 08/12/1971 and bottled 27/09/ 2012
This is the result of the blend between the 3 last casks distilled in 1971 (2 regular oak barrels and 1 sherry butt) found at the back of the warehouse.
The blending of the 3 result in an exceptional single malt with only 630 bottles produced.
Nose: Rich aromas of dried fruits, honey, toffee, and hints of oak spice.
Palate: Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, with notes of raisins, figs, nuts, vanilla, and subtle sherry influence.
Finish: Long and lingering, with warming spices and oak nuances.
