Taittinger Nocturne Sec Blue Wave N.V., 750ml

Taittinger Nocturne Sec is made from 40% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier, sourced from more than 30 crus across Champagne. The wine is aged on its lees for a minimum of 4 years before disgorgement, incorporating a portion of reserve wines to ensure consistency and complexity. Classified as a Sec Champagne, it has a dosage of approximately 17–18 g/L, giving a rounded, suave style while retaining freshness. This extended ageing and higher dosage result in a champagne designed for late‑evening enjoyment and food pairing rather than aperitif service.

Tasting Note:

The pale yellow colour shows shimmering golden highlights, with a fine, persistent bead and a delicate, lingering mousse. The nose is open and expressive, revealing aromas of white flowers, yellow peach and dried apricot, followed by hints of honey, brioche and subtle vanilla. The palate opens softly and round, with a smooth, creamy texture balanced by lively acidity. Flavours of ripe stone fruit, raisins and fruit in syrup lead to a long, mellow finish with a discreet sweetness and freshness in harmony.
