Joh. Jos. Prum "Bernkasteler Badstube" Riesling Spatlese 2023, 750ml

100% Riesling grown on steep, slate-rich slopes in the Mosel’s Bernkasteler Badstube vineyard, where soils are composed of Devonian shale with varying degrees of erosion. Vines are ungrafted and average 40 years of age. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel using native yeasts, with no oak employed and no malolactic conversion. The wine is bottled with residual sugar typical of the Spätlese classification and shows 8% alcohol.

Tasting Note:

Aromatically, it opens with white flowers and lemon balm, followed by mossy green notes and hints of stone fruit. The palate is delicate yet concentrated, revealing Reine Claude plum compote, racy acidity, and a wet-stone character. Overall, it is a finely balanced and expressive Spätlese, marked by serene sweetness and mineral precision.
