Domaine Perrot Minot Chambertin Grand Cru 2017, 750ml

Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 comes from a mid-slope parcel facing east, planted with Pinot Noir vines aged 50–52 years. The soil is composed of Bajocian crinoidal limestone and marl, covered with limestone scree and silt settled over millennia. Grapes were fully destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, following a cold maceration. The wine was aged for 16–18 months in 20–30% new French oak barrels, without racking, fining, or filtration, and bottled by gravity. (Maison wine)

Tasting Note:

Fine bright purple. Glossy deep fruit, the nose is noticeably more discreet than the Clos de Bèze. A little bit spicier on the nose, a clean pure red fruit, a real intensity which is more linear than rounded, exceptionally long, concentrated strawberries, certainly fully ripe, has kept enough freshness, yet the detailed ripe alpine strawberry keeps returning.
