Domaine Perrot Minot Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2017, 750ml

Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 comes from a 0.80-hectare parcel planted in 1957, located on shallow, arable soils composed of brown and blond clay-limestone mixed with gravel. Grapes were fully destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, following a cold maceration. The wine was aged for 16–18 months in 20–30% new French oak barrels, without racking, fining, or filtration, and bottled by gravity.

Tasting Note:

The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has an entrancing, pure wild strawberry and cranberry bouquet laced with allspice and orange pith. The oak here is nicely assimilated. The palate is very harmonious on the entry, with sorbet-like red fruit. Hints of salted licorice and Moroccan spices render the finish quite complex.
