Chateau Saint Georges St Emilion 2018, 1.5L
Château Saint-Georges is a 45-hectare estate in the smallest satellite appellation of Saint-Emilion, producing three wines. The limestone and clay soils are ideal for cultivating Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc, with grapes hand-harvested and traditionally vinified.
Royal Heritage: This historic estate dates back to the Gallo-Roman period and was once owned by King Henry IV. The current château, built in 1772, has been in the Desbois family since 1891. In 2015, Jean-Philippe Janoueix became co-owner and manager, continuing its legacy of excellence.
Tasting Note:
Deep garnet-purple in color, the wine offers simple blackberry pie and stewed black plums notes, with wafts of fallen leaves and cracked black pepper. Medium-bodied, the palate is clean and fruity, offering a light chew of tannins and a refreshing finish.
