Pieropan Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva "Vigna Garzon" 2019, 750ml

70% Corvina, 20% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella, and 5% Croatina Veronese from the single Vigna Garzon vineyard (3ha) on volcanic and limestone-clay soils at 300-350m in the Cellore d’Illasi zone of Valpolicella. The grapes are hand-harvested in late September, dried naturally for 4 months until February, destemmed and crushed, and undergo alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in 50hl open oak vats with daily manual punch-downs for 30-40 days. Malolactic completed in barrel. Aged 36 months in 500-litre French oak tonneaux (20% new) followed by 12 months in bottle.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show black cherry and dried fig along with cocoa and sweet spice notes. The palate delivers full body and concentration with velvety texture and firm tannic backbone. Overall impression is one of powerful elegance and exceptionally long persistence reflecting the ripe yet structured vintage character in Valpolicella Amarone.
