Domaine Jean-Marc Bouley Volnay V.V. 2018, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir sourced from 40+ year-old vines planted in Les Pluchots, Les Famines, and La Gigotte—communal lieux-dits located just below the Premier Cru Carelles in Volnay. The vineyard benefits from full-day sun exposure and minimal wind, contributing to ripeness and concentration. Grapes were manually harvested and fermented with partial whole clusters (0–50%) using native yeasts in concrete and stainless steel tanks. The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, with 5–15% new oak, and bottled without fining or filtration.

Tasting Note:

Aromas include smoky plum, cassis, licorice, and rich soil tones. The palate is medium to full-bodied, layered, and muscular, with firm tannins and a broad, enveloping texture. Overall, the wine is powerful and structured, built for ageing.
