Boscarelli Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2020, 750ml

Fruit from vineyards in Cervognano at 300 meters above sea level on alluvial soils rich in sand, gravel, lime, silt, and clay. The blend is 85% Sangiovese Prugnolo Gentile and 15% Canaiolo, Colorino, and Mammolo. Grapes are destemmed and softly pressed before fermentation with indigenous yeasts in small oak vats and stainless steel tanks. The wine ages 18 to 24 months in Allier and Slavonian oak casks ranging from 5 to 35 hectoliters, where malolactic fermentation occurs, followed by several months in bottle.

Tasting Notes:

Aromas of black cherries, vanilla and cocoa are complemented by tobacco, heather and plum. On the palate, the lush, supple fruit balances the robust structure and inner firmness of the tannins. It is extended by wild black and redcurrants, and a savoury note adds an interesting touch. Satisfying and complex.
