Domaine Lignier Michelot Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru 2019, 750ml

100% Pinot Noir from old vines in the Aux Mazoyères sector of Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (purchased grapes farmed by Virgile Lignier), with clay-limestone soils over mother rock. The grapes are hand-harvested, vinified with a high proportion of whole clusters and short cold maceration without punch-downs, and undergo alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic completed. Aged 18-20 months in oak barrels using around 40% new wood.

Tasting Note:

Aromas show blackcurrant and dark cherry along with rose petal and spice notes. The palate delivers richness and volume with velvety texture and succulent acidity. Overall impression is one of ample depth and expansive persistence reflecting the warm ripe vintage character in Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir.
