Domaine Guy Amiot Montrachet Grand Cru 2020, 750ml

100% Chardonnay from a tiny 0.091-hectare parcel of nearly 90-year-old vines in the Montrachet Grand Cru on the Puligny side (historically known as Dent de Chien) with south-facing exposure on clay-limestone soils. The domaine hand-harvests the grapes, which are gently pressed as whole clusters. The wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels with a moderate percentage of new oak, followed by extended lees ageing.

Tasting Note:

The 2020 opens with aromas of lemon, white peach, ripe pear, hazelnut, toasted almond, and white flowers with saline mineral and subtle oak spice notes. The palate is full-bodied yet precise with concentrated yet refined fruit, creamy texture balanced by vibrant acidity, powerful minerality, and a very long, layered, saline finish. Majestic, harmonious, and built for long-term ageing.
